Gailė Griciūtė (b. 1985 in Kaunas, Lithuania) a pianist, composer and sound artist , graduated from the Sibelius Music Academy in Helsinki, Finland in 2011 and studied as a guest student at Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main in 2014 (Douglas Gordon film class) at the moment finishing her composition master studies at The Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. In year 2015 Gailė has composed music for dance performance Rohto, where she has collaborated with dancer Linda Priha, performance artist Inari Virmakoski and light designer Ada Halonen, it was staged in Tehdas Theatre in Turku city, Finland. Together with German artist Thuy-Han Nguyen-Chi Gailė has exhibited their work Intergrade Holes at Nigerian artist Otobong Nkanga’s exhibition Crumbling Through Powdery Air at Portikus gallery, Frankfurt, Germany in 2015. As a member of contemporary art music ensemble “Varjo” in Finland Gailė has performed in Tokyo Performance Festival, Arcola theater, London, Berlin and Helsinki. While living in the Kingdom of Bhutan Gailė has formed free improvisation ensemble Driklam Namza. Gailė together with sound artist Antanas Dombrovski plays in a band Weld Mignon (electronics and prepared piano), they have just came back from Counterflows festival in Glasgow and are preparing for a tour in Ukraine in June 2016..
